Service Details
Connie Jean Schieffer, 51, of Des Moines, passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 27, 2010, at her home. A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at Hamilton’s Near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, IA., with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Connie was born January 18, 1959, to Norma and Charles Comegys in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born and raised on the city’s south side. She was a 1977 graduate of Lincoln High in Des Moines.
Connie is survived by her parents; husband, David; her children, Sara Long, Krystal Genteman, Sabrina Schieffer, and Nick (Krystal) Schieffer; grandchildren, Adam, Rachel, Madalinn, Destonie, and Tabitha; sister, Nancy Theis; brother, Danny (Robyn) Comegys; a host of nieces and nephews; her beloved cats and her dog Sadie.

To Connies family;
I just received a copy of ALHS Alumni Newsletter with the tribute to Connie. I have not seen Connie since high school when us girls use to pile in her car at lunchtime. As a high school friend I can honestly say she was such a wonderful, kind and happy teenager. I have some very special, always funny memories of Connie. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I am so so deeply sorry to hear this. To the most beautiful person in this world who left us so soon. She will be greatly missed. I worked with her for many many years and I am so glad that I did. We had this great bond that I would not change for anything. I am so glad she looked me up when Dave and her came to Las Vegas for a vacation. I will cherish those moments forever. Rest in Peace Connie, I love you.

Norma, Charlie, David & family,
I am unable to put into words how much my heart aches for all of your family.
It is hard enough to lose anyone you love.
But a child opens another door deep in your soul.
I wish I could take away the pain with the loss of Connie.
I cannot tell you this pain will be less with time.
Because it has been eight years since we lost Dick and it seems like yesterday.
How brief is our life on earth but we all leave a handprint in a heart of someone we touch & love.
Death changes everything we thought we knew about life.
Your family will be in my thoughts & prayers.

Dave & Sara and Family,
I was in shock to hear of Connies passing! She will be greatly missed especially by all of us that enjoyed our Get-togethers there in the Park. You're in my thoughts and prayers while you tread through the grief this has brought to you! Just remember WE ALL have great memories of her to remember her by! Keep all the good memories close at hand and remember she will always be there watching over you!

Dear Dave, Sara and Family,I am so sorry for your loss, she was defintly taken from this earth to soon, I'm sure however somewhere in this terrible loss there's a grander plan for Connie.
