Jerry B. Cox, 61, passed away Christmas Day, 2010, at his home.
Jerry was born April 29, 1949, to Harold and Ardis (Quick) Cox in Des Moines. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968. Jerry was a pressman for R.R. Donnelly for 30 years and retired from the Des Moines Register as a pressman. He enjoyed cribbage, chess, the outdoors, playing guitar, his pets and spending time with his family.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Ardis; daughters, Tricia (Jason) Byers and Alissa (Frank) Butler; son, Shane (Christy) Cox; and granddaughters, Emma, Hannah and Mary. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold “Coxie” Cox.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Prairie City, IA. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Shane and family,
I was very sorry to hear about Jerry's passing, although I only had the pleasure of meeting him once, Shane spoke very highly of him. Shane, know that your dad loved you, and had many reasons to be very proud of you. Remember all the great times you had with him. Thanks for calling the other day, and call anytime you need to.

DEAR ARDIS AND FAMILY,
TO ALL OF YOU, I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. JERRY B. WAS A WONDERFUL BIG COUSIN TO ME. HE MADE EVERY FAMILY GET TOGETHER FUN. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE SONGS HE WOULD SING, THE FUN NIGHTS AT BUD AND ARDIS HOUSE PLAYING CARDS AND JUST HAVING FUN. I KNOW YOU WILL MISS HIM VERY MUCH.
