Gordan Bishop

Gordon L. “Gordy” Bishop, 55, of Norwalk died on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at his home. The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home and he will be cremated following visitation. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Gordy was born on November 14th, 1951 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He graduated from West Liberty High School in 1969, attended Muscatine Community College and married Deborah Engel in Des Moines in 1991. He retired from Qwest after 33 years of service. Gordy enjoyed sailing the lake near his home with his family and riding his Harley. He adored his grandson Chase who also in return adored his grandpa Gordy.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Bishop, his parents William and Louise Bishop of Muscatine, his son Chad Bishop of Muscatine, his daughter Rebecca Bishop of Muscatine, his sister Rose (Jim) Yoder of Cookville, Tennessee, his grandson Chase Bishop of Muscatine as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Charlie and Ella Bishop, his maternal grandparents Homer and Rebecca Bishop, 4 uncles and several aunts.
