Roberta Abbas

Roberta Abbas, 58, passed away at her home Saturday, December 18, 2010. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with a private family burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Des Moines prior to the service. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.

Roberta was born December 24, 1951, to Bert and Wanda Dunning in Des Moines, IA She attended Lincoln High School and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1973 from the Methodist College of Nursing. Roberta married Gary Abbas on December 8, 1973, and three chidren were born to bless this union. Roberta was an active member of the Clifton Heights Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir. She loved music and singing. Roberta was a gifted artist and an animal lover. Roberta especially enjoyed her grandchildren and they gave her the greatest joy in her life.

Roberta is survived by her husband Gary; sons, Aaron(Carrie) Abbas and Nathan(Cindi) Abbas; daughter Beth(Chad) Sealine; 8 grandchildren; Saylor, Avery, Spenser, Emerson, Abby, Seth, Thaden, and Corrin; 2 brothers Larry and Randy; two sisters Debbie and Pam, and her mother Wanda Dunning. Preceding her in death is her father Bert Dunning and brother Ronald.
