Velma Reinertson

Velma Fern Reinertson, 97, made her journey home to Heaven Friday, December 17, 2010, at Union Park Health Services with Iowa Hospice care in Des Moines, Iowa. A private burial will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Velma was born October 27, 1913, to Vaughn and Edna Einfeldt Chute in Lenox, Iowa. She lived in Creston, Iowa for many years until moving to Des Moines in 1956. She loved to travel, and loved her daughters, grandchildren, and brothers and sisters dearly as well as many friends.

Velma is survived by her daughter, Edna (James) Conley Davidson; son-in-law, Gerald Cook; sister, Olivia Pulley of Omaha, Nebraska; brother, Kenneth Stevenson of Carter Lake, Iowa; five grandchildren, Edward Davidson, Danny (Angela) Davidson, Gene (Carmin) Cook, Steven (Amy) Cook, Joy (Kurt) Burchett; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Voyel Conley and Robert Reinertson; grandson, Rusty Davidson; brothers, Wayne and Cecil Chute; sister, Vivian Novak; and daughter, Dorothy Cook.
