Mary Boatwright, 72 died December 16, 2010, at her home. Mary was born October 11, 1938, to Irene and Albert Davis in Des Moines Iowa.
Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was always willing to help others and had strong faith in God.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Walter; children, Betty (Tom) McGaffey, Barb Watkins, Matt (Beth Renee) Boatwright and Kelly Boatwright; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; sister, Marjorie (Buster) Blackburn; sister in law, Jewel Davis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bob Davis.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Dear Walter-
Experiencing the death of a wife is so personal that very few of us can understand the grief involved. Perhaps it will help to ease your sadness if you know that Mary will be greatly missed by all of her friends, and that we all share in your sadness.
Mary was one of the most charming and warment women I have ever known. I will never forget her. My love is with you and your family.
So sorry about your lost, I know how you feel as I lost George in 2000.
