Jack C. Miles, Sr. was born February 15, 1925, in Des Moines and passed away December 9, 2010 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Jack served in the U.S. Army, Combat Engineers during WWII. He was the owner of Jack C. Miles Custom Draperies for 18 years.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sarah. He is survived by his children, Jack (Jan) Miles, Jr. and Kathy (Bob) Broyles; grandchildren, Jack Miles III, Shannon Miles and Scott (Mellissa) Broyles; great-grandson, Logan Broyles; and his sister, Marie Perdue of Moline, IL.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010, at McDivitt Grove Cemetery, 70th & Meredith Drive in Urbandale.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Jack and Family,
Our deepest sympathy for you and your family, anything you need just let me know. From what you have said over they years I know your grandpa was very close to you and that you did whatever he would allow you to! Loved hearing the things he would say to you and telling you what he thought or wanted you to do! Your shopping trip stories were the best!

Jack, Lynn and I would like to extend our sincere sympathy to you and your family. We are so sorry to hear of your grandpa's passing. He sounded like a wonderful man, you always spoke very highly of him. Remember a couple of years ago when I was trying to get your phone number and got your grandpa's instead. I remember we have a very nice conversation and of course, ended up talking about racing and you.
