Mary Melver

Mary Elizabeth Melver, 84, passed away December 4, 2010, at Pleasant Care Living Center. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.* A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Mary was born October 23, 1926, in Sioux City, IA, to Homer and Alvina Davis. She was active in her community center and loved to play dominos, BINGO and cards.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Becky (Jim) Stocks of Des Moines and Linda (Arland) Stocks of Dorchester, IA; sons, Bob (Vicki) Stocks of Dexter, MN and Charlie (Karen) Stocks of Ankeny; brother, Roger; sister, Ruth; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Heather. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bert; daughters, Betty Christenson and Carol Stocks; brothers, Jerome and Junior; and her sister Eileen.
