Marc Edward Churchill, 45, died unexpectedly Monday, November 29, 2010. He was born March 15, 1965 in Oelwein, IA to Clayton and Marcelyn Churchill.
Marc graduated from Norwalk High School and worked many years in various construction jobs. Most recently, he worked as a vendor for Pepsi Company. Marc was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs.
Marc’s greatest joy came from spending time with his sons, Little “Punkin” Butt, Kiefer, Austin, and Michael; and the love of his life, Wendy. He will be greatly missed.
Marc is survived by his wife, Wendy; sons, Corey, Austin, Michael, and Kiefer; mother, Marcelyn Churchill; brothers, Robert (Mary) and Lary (Ronda) Churchill; and a host of other family and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Churchill.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 3, 2010 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 3900 Ashworth Road in West Des Moines. Family will visit with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW in Altoona.

I work at Mercy and Mark delivered to a machine outside my office. I had been off work for two weeks and spoke to the delivery guy today and learned of Mark's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. He was truly a kind friendly person. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and his sons.

I just wanted you and your boys to know you will be in my prayers. You do not know me personally but Marc was our Vending Man here at Mercy he will be greatly missed by us all he was so friendly and always smiling even when we were complaining about our food getting stuck and giving him a hard time. I am truely sorry for your loss.

Dear Wendy & boys,
I was saddened to hear the loss of your husband and dad. I was a classmate of his in Oelwein and found out of his sudden death by another classmate from the class of 1983 Oelwein Community School Distrct. Please know that I will continue to keep you ALL in my thoughts and prayers...
