Jeffrey Adam Thompson

Jeffrey Adam Thompson, 54, died November 30, 2010, at his home.

Jeff was born December 19, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Mildred and Thomas Thompson. He proudly served in the Navy for four years. He worked as a coach for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs. Jeff enjoyed boating at Sun Valley, hunting, fishing, gardening and especially the trips he would take with his son. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited. Jeff was a very witty and humorous man who loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susan; son, Adam (Shawna); a grandchild on the way; siblings, Thomas (Kelli) Thompson, Benjamin (Lorrie) Thompson, Karla Thompson, Tomalin (Ronnie) Throener and Laura (Dick) Stanley; mother in law, Ellen “Nellie” Reisman; a host of other family and friends. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and father in law, Kenneth Reisman.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 6, 2010, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines, burial will follow at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. A visitation will occur Sunday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa Injured Vet Grant Program.
