John Wesley Johnson

John Wesley Johnson, 78, passed away November 26, 2010, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

John was born July 11, 1932, in Des Moines to John and Lucille (Perry) Johnson and was a lifelong resident. He was a florist for Loziers for many years then went on to work for Casey’s as a truck driver and mechanic.
John was a member of the Moose Lodge and was on a bowling league for the City of Des Moines.

John is survived by his children, Linda Rattray, Ruth Ann Johnson, Donald (Teresa) Johnson, Barbara (Mike) Loyd, Richard (Mary) Johnson, Sheri (David) Dalton, Pamela Belew, David (Chris) Johnson, Kimberly Mullahey and Michael (Christa) Johnson; sister, Betty McCuen; brother, Earl Leroy (Sue) DuRocher; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, JoAnn; twin sons, Ronnie and Johnnie; brother, Charles Johnson; sister, Lucille Marie Johnson; brother-in-law, Kenny McCuen; and nephew, Little Kenny McCuen.
