Lonnie Hubbs, 51, passed away November 26, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center
Lonnie was born May 2, 1959 in Des Moines to Lee and Della Hubbs. He was an Inspector for the City of Clive and also a Reserve Police Officer for the Urbandale Police Department where in 2009, he was awarded Reserve Officer of the Year. Lonnie enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle.
Lonnie is survived by his daughters, Megan (Nick) Nelson and Sarah (Kris) Hobt; son, Brian Hubbs; fiancé, Merianne Fucaloro; sister, LeAnna (Jerry) Wood; brother, Lynn (Doreen) Hubbs; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Gabriel Hobt.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010 Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy in West Des Moines followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Southtown, 5400 SW 9th St.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Lonnie came into my daughter Grace's life two years ago. From that day forward Grace always had a story about Lonnie, or an I love Lonnie. He will most definitely be missed. My condolences to the family.

Lonnie was a great friend and one of or maybe the hardest-working man in America. I am very sorry I can't attend, I hope everyone is comforted in how Lonzo lived everyday to the fullest. I will miss him everyday.

Our deepest heartfelt sympathy is with you at this time of you loss. Lonnie was my sister, Virginia Erickson Ludwick's first husband, and Brian Hubbs' mother.
He is no longer suffering on this mortal earth, but being reunited with his Mother whom he loved and missed very much. Grieve if you must, but be happy for him that he is in a better place and with his loved ones who have gone before him.
