Service Details
Arlys Joy Bartholomew, 77, died on November 26, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center.
Memorial Services will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Hamilton’s Southtown, 5400 SW 9th Street with a visitation for one hour prior to the service.
Arlys was born November 5, 1933 in Des Moines to Anna (Ringstead) and Loran Mearl Smith, Sr. and grew up in Des Moines. She spent the last 30 years in Blue Springs, MO, recently returning to the Des Moines area. Arlys loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching auto racing, dog racing, visiting Prairie Meadows and Lake Tahoe.
Arlys is survived by her son, Roger Hollingsworth; her step-daughter, Janet Van Ryswyk; and her step-sons, Charles Bartholomew and Larry Bartholomew; and nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Newton D. Bartholomew and her parents.
Memorial Contribution may be made to St. Judes in loving memory of Arlys.

Our family was saddened to learn of Arlys's passing. I remember visiting her and Newt with my Dad (Richard) when I was young. It was always a fun time. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
