Linwood Dunton

Linwood Wayne Dunton had been ill for several years and for a long time it had been his prayer to be with the Lord. On November 25, 2010, the Lord answered his prayer. Lindy was born August 5, 1928 in Bangor, Maine to Horace and Nona Dunton. He resided and died at University Park Nursing Facility in Des Moines, Iowa.

Visitation will be at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Monday, November 29, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A graveside service will follow visitation at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Lindy served his country in the US Army in Japan, attended the Bentley School for Accounting, worked as an auditor for Homelite and a Bank Examiner for the state of Iowa.

Lindy is survived by sisters, Joanne Drinkwater of Oldtown, ME, Phyllis Wheeler and Yvonne Boucher of Des Moines, IA, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Health Hospice in loving memory of Linwood.
