Louise Darrah, 87, died Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston, Iowa. She was born October 11, 1923, in Perry, Iowa to Fred and Elizabeth Potter.
She enjoyed baking, cooking, and attending family gatherings.
Louise is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Elmer Darrah; sons, Dennis (Jackie) Kinder and Kelvin Kinder; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mable Crusan. She was preceded in death by one great-grandson and her first husband.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, November 18, 2010, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa. Family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at the funeral home.

Louise was a unique individual. I was her neighbor at the apartments. I used to visit with her and Elmer on occasion. The sentiments and stories as told by family at the funeral were things I remember also. I always agreed with her when Elmer did something she didn't like. She was her own woman. I will miss her. My sympathy to her family for the loss of this good woman.
