Elizabeth Erickson

Elizabeth Joan Erickson, 85, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Iowa Methodist Hospital. Her request for cremation has been honored and her cremated remains will be buried at sea by the U.S. Navy.
A lifelong resident of Des Moines, Liz was born on January 31, 1925 to C. Fred and Ellen L. (Koons) Erickson. Following graduation from Roosevelt High School, Liz served in the Navy as a pharmacist mate. She enjoyed many years of employment with Eastman Kodak followed by Treck Photographic. She retired from the Iowa Department of Agriculture. Liz was a member of Waves National, IO-WA-VETS Unit #84, B.P.O. Does #25, First Christian Church and Women in Military Service in America.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janet Woolsey. She is survived by her nephews, Carl, John and Eric J. Woolsey, Sr.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2010, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice in loving memory of Elizabeth.

Carl, John, Eric and Martha, Barb and Families: I knew Liz for so many
years and have been thinking about her lately as the last time I heard from her she was in a nursing home. Barb Estey called me yesterday to let me know of Liz' death. My sincere condolences to all of you. May God be with you all during these trying times.
