Dennis Stevenson

Dennis Stevenson, 49, went to be with the Lord to a very special place in heaven on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, in the arms of his mother and surrounded by his family. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.

Dennis was born May 13, 1961, to Jackie and Michael Stevenson. He was a fun guy who loved being with family and friends. He could never count his money, but would give all he had just to spend time with you. If you gave him a photo, be sure it was on his wall taped, glued, or even nailed. He loved calling on his cell phone, camping at Cutty’s, and going around the neighborhood on his electric scooter. He also loved going to the races in Newton and listening to his friend Danny Dee’s music. Above all, Dennis loved his church in Valley Junction and his Pastor Dave. He also loved helping and feeding the homeless.

Dennis is survived by his mother Jackie Stevenson-Sloan and Larry Sloan; his niece Alexis and nephew Mike who he lived with; his brothers Larry and Robert; his step-sister, Diane Vaux; his step-brother Scott Ziebell; 5 nieces; 4 nephews; 4 great nieces; 2 great nephews; his grandparents, Bob and Shirley Sowels; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Mike, and his brother, Dale.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2010, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Dennis.
