Raymond E. Wilkins

Raymond “Russ” Wilkins, 55, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born December 20, 1954, in Des Moines and raised by Charles and Betty Noble.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and drag racing, working in the garage, and playing with his dogs. Russ attended Cross Point United Methodist Church and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Riders. He was currently working for DMACC as a custodian, but was a career auto body repairman, including welding, fabricating, and painting.
Russ is survived by his wife of 30 years, Pam Wilkins; sons, Rusty Wilkins and Ryan (Shawnee Smith) Wilkins; grandchildren, Aidan McCalley and Ella Wilkins; brother, Chuck (Maria Rynearson) Wilkins; sister, Rose (Miles Morgan) Noble; father, Charlie Noble; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Noble and his grandparents, Oma and Raymond Thorton.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2010 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Friends will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions will be received by the family in loving memory of Raymond “Russ” Wilkins.

This is my my Grandpa.... he died when I was 3 months old I'm now 11 and a half..... I of course don't remember him cuz I was so young....but from what i've heared from my dad and mom he was a great man.....this was along time ago but he's still my Grandpa so I will always love him. RIP we all luv u :)

My heart goes out to the wilkens family...I have known Russ since I was 16 years old. May he rest in peace. God bless all of you at this very sad time.
