Betty McBride

Betty Eileen McBride, 84, died peacefully on October 22, 2010. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Betty was born May 3, 1926, in Des Moines to Charles and Edna Foutz. She took care of her husband, children, and grandchildren her entire life. Betty loved the Lord and enjoyed dancing and singing along to music.

Betty is survived by her children, George (Sharon) McBride and Patricia McBride; grandchildren, Carrie Peck, Chad McBride, Tammy Yetter, Travis McBride, Jason McBride, Lisa McDonald, Leslie Lybarger, Justin McBride, Candace Schumer, and Carol Freichs; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George McBride; sister, Virginia Haynugs; brother, Robert Foutz; and many loving brothers and sister-in-law.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Battered Women’s Shelter.
