James Dixon Marshall

James Dixon Marshall, 68, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010. Services will be at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines on Monday, October 25, 2010. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service at noon. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.
Jim was born in Des Moines to Erma and Frank Marshall. He graduated from North High School, Grand View College and NW Missouri State University. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for Massey Ferguson and CDS as a software specialist, retiring in 2000. Jim enjoyed reading, discussing politics, taking photographs of his grandchildren, and traveling.
He will be greatly missed by Jane, his wife of 40 years; daughters, Becky (Tom) Newton, Jennifer (Satoshi) Okano; grandchildren, Claire and Roy Newton, Emily and Mari Okano; siblings, Rosemary (Tim) Rahm and Frank (Christine) Marshall. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia Sanders.

We are so sorry to hear about Uncle Jim. Our family is thinking of you and praying for comfort during this sad time. I can't believe its been ten years since I lost my mom and now Jim. Sorry to hear about Jim. I worked with him at both Massey and CDS. In fact when Massey was bought out, Jim, myself, and one other person were the only 3 left in the IT department till the bitter end. We had many good times together. Roy Shafer

I was sorry to read of Jim's passing -- I was at North High with Jim and have fond memories of our high-school years. He will be missed by his former classmates.
