Elaine S. Leslie

Elaine S. Leslie, 82, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Services will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 3:45 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. The family will greet friends beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Elaine was born on January 12, 1928 in New Orleans to Carmen and Alfonse Sarre'. She graduated from Newcomb College and worked as an administrative assistant in various educational facilities. Elaine and her husband James lived in New Orleans, Pittsburg and New Jersey. She enjoyed reading, Bingo and was a member of Junior League and the Red Hat Club.

Elaine is survived by her sons, Jim (Rita) and Jonathan (Mary); daughter-in-law, Kathy Leslie; grandchildren, Eileen (Tim) Kurth, Andrew, Kathleen, Jennifer and Christine; two great-grandchildren, Harrison and Harper. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James, Sr.; son, Robert Leslie; and her sister, Eugenie Bollier.
