Everett Burgess

Everett “Ebb” Burgess, 101 died Monday, March 19, 2007 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 26, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Everett’s family will greet friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Everett was born October 13, 1905 in Des Moines. He worked at Iowa Packing Co. for 42 years. He belonged to the Shrine for 50 years. Everett was an avid golfer and bowler. He enjoyed pool, dancing and music and especially loved his grandchildren and great grandkids.
He is survived by his daughter, Jan Mulcahy; his grandchildren, Christy Grubb, Steve (Clareann) Burgess, Tim (Gayle) Burgess, Sherry (Charlie) Ward, Pam (Jeff) Court, and Kelli (Scott) Seid; his 11 great grandchildren and his 3 step grandchildren and his good friend Noreen Goodspeed.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Orin and Elizabeth Burgess; his siblings, Ben, Fank, Orin, Bill, Florence and Lillian; his wife, Veva Burgess; his son, Jack Burgess; and his son-in-law, Bud Mulcahy.
Memorial contributions may be made to Park Avenue Christian Church or Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House.
