Fred Blake

Fred Blake, 95, of Des Moines, Iowa died Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at the Madrid Home. Funeral Service will be Monday, November 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon. Burial will be in Palmyra Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Fred was born April 1, 1911 in Beech, Iowa to Francis E. and Mary Ellen Frush Blake. He worked as a carpenter for Capp Homes. Fred was a lifetime member of the Carpenter’s Union #106.
Fred is survived by one daughter, Joanne (Robert) Seals; one son, Dwight (Laura) Blake; four grandchildren, Brooke Funderburke, Robert Seals, Jeremy Blake, and Andrew Blake; two great grandchildren, Claire Funderburke and Maya Blake.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice, one son, Harold Blake; two sisters, Grace Smith and Edna Deaton; and one brother, Forest Blake
