Ruth Zeilenga

Ruth Zeilenga, 91, went to be with the Lord on October 20th at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa. Ruth was born in Kewanee, Illinois, the oldest daughter of Frank and L. Mimia Marquess. She married Jack Zeilenga in 1941 and shared 55 years together. At the time of her retirement she was a house wares supervisor in a hardware store in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. She and Jack retired to Horseshoe Bend Arkansas in 1985 and enjoyed many years there. She came to Iowa in 2000 and lived in Carlisle, Iowa.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her sons; Jack (Carol) of Pasco, Washington, Ralph of Lansing, Illinois, Keith (Jeanine) of Oak Lawn, Illinois, and daughter Phyllis (Mike) Peterson of Ankeny, Iowa, 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Lorraine Peterson and brothers, Raymond and John Marquess; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Rose, husband Jack, and grandson Mark.

Burial services will be held in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.
