Kaye Hisae Conn died Monday, October 11, 2010 at Kavanagh House on 56th in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, October 15, 2010, at First Federated Church, 4801 Franklin Avenue, Des Moines.
Kaye was born in Osaka, Japan, married Russell Conn Sr., and moved to the Des Moines area in 1958 where she raised her four children. Kaye was a floral designer for many years and was a member of First Federated Church.
Kaye is survived by her children, Mary Hall of Ohio, Richard (Sue) Yabunaka of Colorado, David (Jane) Conn of Waukee, and Russell (Sue) Conn Jr. of Florida; grandchildren, Eric and Shawn Lambi, Josh Hall, Morgan, Cole, Jacob, Jenna, and Aaron Conn; six great-grandchildren; and best friend, Koko. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Conn Sr.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Kavanagh House on 56th.

I feel saddened by the news of your mother's passing. I had known your mother for about as long as I had known you. The last time that I had spoken to her I was working to keep her house warm. We talked about family and how fast kids grow. I know that it is hard to see someone that you love and care for leave this world and their presence will be greatly missed. But they will never be forgotten. Again I feel saddened and you have my greatest sympathy.

I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was such a great friend of our family.
Her visits to the house were so fun. My parents both loved her and her passion for life.

My heart goes out to you all. Kaye was a great lady. It was so good to see her last year, she really looked good. She was loved by all of our family very much. My prayers are with you.
