Service Details
Howard Morgan, 98, died October 9, 2010 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born March 2, 1912 to Daniel and Mary Morgan in Lacona, Iowa. He graduated from Milo High School in 1930.
Howard was awarded the Bronze Star for the New Guinea Campaign’s; he also received a Good Conduct Medal while he served in the United States Army from 1942, until his honorable discharge in 1945. He worked at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines for about 35 years.
He was united in marriage to Dora, who brought to the union a daughter, Fredia and together they had a daughter, Josephine. He is survived by his daughter, Josephine Drake, step-daughter Fredia Brooks and several grand children and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and many brothers and sisters.
Funeral services are pending with Hamilton's Funeral Home.

Dear Fredia and Josephine,
I won't be able to attend the service for your father . He is the last of the big family. He has lived a good life and will be missed. When my mother Gertie died we no longer had occasion to see each other so we have gone our separate ways. I think of the family at this time. I had cancer surgery last Friday so I am not able to go anywhere yet. I wanted to let you know I was thinking about you .
