Dearest Kay, Jeff and Laura:
I am so sad to hear about David. All of you have been like family to me throughout the past 40 years. I think back to hundred of dinners together, the golf, the summer vacations - it brings back such fond memories and so much nostalgia. I am sorry I cannot be there for the funeral services today and to provide emotional support. After going through my Mom's passing just two years ago I know quite well the darkness, pain and tears. I do know you will find great strength among each other. God Bless David and God Bless all of you.
Love,
Bec

It is with great sympathy that I want to send my condolences to Dave's family. I had the privilege to meet Dave many times over the past couple of decades as a representative of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. It was always a pleasure to work with Dave, see him at a State Tournament or in the IHSAA offices. He was always helpful to us (FCA) and I believe we shared a similar passion for athletes and coaches and the benefits that can be derived from being a part of a team. I am grateful that the Lord has allowed me to meet and interact with so many like Dave. May the One who loves beyond man's capacity to understand be near to all of you at this time and in the years to come.

I just want to send my deepest sympathy at this time. I am the wrestling coach at Columbus Junction High School and in the course of the last 20 years I had numerous contacts with Mr. Harty. He was a great supporter of Iowa High School wrestling and extremely patient with all coaches, but especially with rookie coaches. He understood the sport and was always willing to not only answer my questions but allow me to get some advice from time to time. God Bless the family and friends of Mr. David Harty at this time. Again I extend my deepest sympathy!
