Ruby Smith

Ruby Smith, 83, passed away October 6, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center.

Ruby was born July 3, 1927 in Booneville, IA to Marion and Beulah Traas. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed going to Prairie Meadows.

Ruby is survived by her children, Ruby (Dave) Hodges, Orville Smith, Clifford (Gloria) Smith, Beulah Smith (Lance), Charles (Peggy) Smith, Marion (Deb) Smith, Alice Johnson and Eugene Smith; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her parents; and brother, Lewis Traas.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2010, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
