Vera "Verna" Proffitt

Vera “Verna” Proffitt, 82, died October 4, 2010 at University Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Per her request, her body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.

Verna was born March 28, 1928 in Red Oak, IA. She graduated from Simpson College with a degree in Biology. Verna worked as a dispatcher for AAA Security until her retirement in 1990.

Verna is survived by her sons, Robert and John Proffitt; daughters, Barbara Storm and Maryann McGregor; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, M.M. and Gabrielle Doolittle.

Verna will be deeply missed by her family and friends who will lovingly remember her for her stubbornness.
