Harold Martin

Harold J. Martin, 76, was born September 2, 1930, in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away at Iowa Lutheran Hospital after a short illness on March 17, 2007. He attended East High School and served as a stationery engineer, 1st assistant, at Tech High School. He retired in 1992 as the building manager at Central Presbyterian Church.
Harold enjoyed golfing, fishing, dancing, classic car shows, and Nascar races.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, Steve Martin (Pam); daughter, Jeri Stoffel; stepdaughters, Rhonda (Tim) Wagoner and Linda (Dave) Beatty; sister, Dorothy Martin; grandchildren, Tyler Townsend, Amber (Tyler) Snethen, Brandon Wagoner, Kayleigh Beatty, and Taylor Beatty; niece, Kathy, and nephew, John Martin.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, D.B. and Rose; granddaughter, Bailey Beatty, and brother-in-law, John Martin
At Harold’s request, his body has been cremated. A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20th, at Oakwood United Methodist Church, 400 NE 56th Street in Pleasant Hill. Memorial may be made to Oakwood United Methodist Church or the Animal Rescue League.
The family will greet friends at the church one hour before services.
