Allen (Eddie) Mayfield, III

Allen (Eddie) Edmon Mayfield III, 16, went to be with the Lord Friday morning, September 17, 2010.

Eddie was born February 17, 1994. He attended Lincoln High School and worked on siding with his uncle Bill. He was a very hard worker, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, loved music, sports, and video games, and was a very generous and caring person who would help anyone in need.

He is survived by his father Allen E. Mayfield Jr. of Des Moines; mother Kristina Mayfield of Carrollton, KY; step-parents Jennifer Bright and Julie Davis of Des Moines; sisters Samantha, Sidney and Sunny Mayfield all of Des Moines; brothers Wheeler and Jack Payton of Carrollton, KY; girlfriend, Kathryne Davis; step-siblings Zachary Bright, Roger, Sarah, and Skylar Soltis and Valerie Davis all of Des Moines; grandparents Linda and Don Bower of Urbandale, Allen E. Mayfield Sr. and Jackie Brekke of Des Moines; great grandfathers Charlie Mayfield of Altoona and Dale Bower of Des Moines; aunts Michelle Mayfield, Jeanie (Keith) Martin, Carla Wistrum; uncle Anthony (Danielle) Bower; step aunt Lori Auten; step uncle Jeff Bower; great uncles William Worthington, Charlie (PJ) Mayfield Jr., and cousins Joe Chicoine, Jennifer Bell, Michael Wood, Jordan Burghardt, Ashley Guzman, Jadi Smock, Nicole Martin, Britney and Mason Auten, Chad Jr., Ashley, Lizzi and Alyssa Worthington.

Services will be 7:00 pm Thursday, September 23rd at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, with visitation from 4 pm to service time on Thursday. Those who wish to contribute to Eddie’s memorial fund may do so at Wells Fargo Bank.
