Thomas Zike, Jr.

Thomas Zike, Jr., 88, passed away September 16, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Miller United Methodist Church, 3016 E. 13th Street.

Thomas served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII and was a teacher for 29 years with Des Moines Public Schools.

Thomas is survived by his children, Marcia (Milton) Maire, Hugh (Jamie) Zike and Carol Heilman; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Phyllis Main, Virginia Young and Eleanor Maxson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen.
