Roberta Lynn Ziebell-Franklin, 53, passed away September 13, 2010 at her home after a four-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Roberta was born May 20, 1957 in Des Moines to Alice and Wilbur McClintic. She worked for the City of Des Moines for 20 years and loved her job. She made many friends. Roberta loved time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed needlework, reading and going to Prairie Meadows.
Left to cherish her memory are her dad, Wilbur McClintic, Sr.; her brother, Mark McClintic; her husband, Burton Franklin; her daughter, Alice Ziebell; her son, Gerald A. Ziebell III; her grandchildren, Catalina, Yair, Aracelly and Brooklyn; and many nieces and nephews. Roberta was preceded in death by her mother, Alice McClintic; and her brothers, John, Wilbur Jr., David.
Loved by all now and forever, our angel over us.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 2, 2010, at Berean Assembly of God, 5299 E. University Avenue in Pleasant Hill.
Memorials contributions are suggested to Mercy Hospice.

I have great memories of Roberta back in high school and then at the city permit & development office. I can remember "that look" she would give me when I wanted something special or just forgiveness. I genuinely liked her and the world has been a little more plain without here these five years since she's been gone.

Alice, you may not remember me, but I'm Brandi Jones', (Brody Middle School) mother. I worked in the Armry with Roberta. She was a fun person to know. Brandi and I wanted you and Gerald to know that you are in our prayers.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Roberta was a co-worker and a longtime member of the Municipal Employees Association the bargaining unit for white collar employees of the City of Des Moines. She has many friends and co-workers that will miss her. Please know that you are in our thoughts as you go through this difficult time.
