Kelly Rae Gillaspy-Acord, 42, passed into the arms of Our Lord, surrounded by her loving family Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Taylor House. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Friday at New Life Church, 6036 NE 12th Avenue, Pleasant Hill.
Kelly was born March 2, 1968 to Karen and Everett Gillaspy in Des Moines. She worked at Principal Financial Group for 15 years. Kelly was a people person who enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family. An important part of her life was caring for her special cats. She enjoyed shopping and interior decorating.
Kelly is survived by her parents; her sister, Cathy (Brent) Barrett; her brother, Steve (Stacy) Gillaspy; her grandmother, Bernice Gillaspy; her niece, Brooke Barrett and her nephew, Blake Barrett. And along with many cousins, aunts and uncles. She will be missed by many.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Animal Rescue League.

Goodbye dear friend. I remember our first days together at Principal. Both of us learning a new job. I learned right away what a good friend I had found in Kelly. Great sense of humor, always thoughtful and supportive. Though it's been a long time we've seen each other, you always remain in my mind.

I used to work with Kelly at Principal. I have nothing but fun memories of her. Kelly was always smiling and always willing to help anyone. She had such a fun sense of humor. My prayers are with her family.
