Ersia M. Driscoll

A woman of great faith went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2010. Ersia Driscoll, 85 years old was born in Numa, Iowa on October 3, 1924. She was a faithful member of Heritage Assembly of God Church. Ersia enjoyed reading her Bible, doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, and attended church services faithfully.

Ersia is survived by her son, Larry Carder; sister, Cherill Kephart; brother, Buddy Johnson Sr.; her step children, Jim Driscoll, Sue Driscoll, and Patricia Wood, all of Des Moines, Iowa; her six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Rutan Sr.; son, George Rutan Jr. (Joe); infant daughter, Saundra Sue; her husband, Frank Driscoll; parents, Martin and Mable Johnson; sister, Norma McLain (Froah); brother, Reverend Martin E. Johnson; and step daughter, Barbara Fiscus.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Heritage Assembly of God Church, 5051 N.E. 5th Street, Des Moines, IA. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Burial will follow services at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

As a tribute to Ersia Driscoll’s strong Christian faith, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to HCA Christian Academy Scholarship Fund.
