Walter “Keith” Green, 80, passed away September 4, 2010.
Keith was born February 21, 1930 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Walter and Elsie (Reel) Green. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Keith was a farmer all of his life and an avid fisherman and hunter. He worked several years for the Altoona Police Department and 26 years as a Polk County Deputy.
Keith is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dodie Green; son, Ron (Ranae) Green: daughter, JoAnn (Bud) Hartley; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Virginia Brower; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Heritage Assembly of God Church, 5051 Northeast 5th Street, followed by a 2 p.m. burial at Iowa Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Christian Academy.

To Dodie, Ron, JoAnn, their children and grandchildren, our heartfelt, condolences over the temporary separation of our family and friend, Keith. We greave with you over the separation, but also take confort in knowing Keith has a new body with no pain and suffering with the brightest future beyond our imagination.
My sister, Virginia, married into the Green family when I was only 1 1/2 years
old. My earilest memories were that of visiting the farm at the Green's and remembering the band that came to the Fort Des Moines Church more than 60 years ago. I loved to hear the wind instruments of Walter, his father, on trumbone, Kenneth on the sacksaphone, Kieth on the trumpet, Dotie and Virginia on the accordians, and Elsie on the piano.
Family gatherings included stories of the how the family airplane landed in the corn field. How the cows got loose and couldn't be caught except by the
speedy race horse. On one of the visits to Iowa, I had come with John, possibly the summer of 1954 or 1955, I visited Kieth and Deloris and their new born, I'm not sure whether it was Ron or JoAnn. I recall the strength of Keith, as he carried two full container of milk at the same time after milking the cows. Between Kenneth, Keith, and Bud, there were a few barnyard experiences, and yes some interesting stories of police and years as a duputy.
Although I had stayed at Keith and Deloris's new house, when attending Beatrice, my sister's funeral, the last time I was with Keith and Deloris was at the worship service at church in 1999. My wife Lavonne and I, shared with Keith, Deloris, Paul and Dot our worship and devotion.
We wish to celebrate Keith's life and contribution to his family and many friends, expecially those he chose in preparation of his creator. I wish to join him in the great celebration and words to come...well done, come ye blessed of my Father inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

Rita let me know about your dad's passing. I wanted to express my sympathy for your loss. I was in CRE when I lost my dad and I know how tough it can be.

I'm so sorry to hear about Keith,I won't be able to make it to the service but I will keep you in my prayers if I can do anything for you let me know he's home with Jesus one day soon we will be there to what a glorious day that will be. Keep your eyes on our Lord and saviour
