Arnie F. Williams Jr., 45, passed away on September 5, 2010, at the Des Moines Veterans Hospital. He was born on April 28, 1965, to Arnie F. Williams, Sr., and Rena Williams.
He was a former United States Marine who served in Desert Storm. Arnie also worked at Billy Joe’s Picture Show as a music D.J. and M.C. at special events and celebrations.
Arnie is survived by his mother, Rena Williams; siblings, Vincent (Jackie) Williams, Luvenia Williams, and Donna Williams; two nieces, Miya, and Vanessa; and two nephews, Vincent, Jr., and Vaughn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnie F. Williams, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward the family in loving memory of Arnie Williams, Jr.

To the family of Mr. Arnie Williams, Jr., we, the pastor, associate ministers, and the entire church family extend to you our deepest sympathy in the passing of your loved one. Life is but a stopping place, a pause in whats to be, a resting place along the road to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, different paths along the way. We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay. Our destination is a place far greater than we know. For some the journeys quicker, for some, the journeys slow. And when the journey finally ends, well claim a great reward & find an everlasting peace, together with the Lord. Trusting that God will be especially close to you in these hours of need.

To Arnie's family:
Arnie was one of the best people anyone could possibly know. He had a kind soul, a beautiful smile, a caring heart, and the ability to always make you feel special.
I worked with him at Billy Joe's as a DJ and also witnessed his few performances at the Ingersoll Dinner Theater. He was talented and loved sharing that talent with those around him.
He will be terribly missed by all who knew him. Heaven has gained a new star!

To the Williams family - I think Arnie was one of the first people I met when I started working at Billy's in 1993. He always met me with a smile and sometimes even with one of his big hugs. Arnie had a great talent putting people at ease in order to sing a song on the stage at Billy's. People who wounld have never thought of singing WOULD do a duet with Arnie. He was a wonderful man and I find myself wishing I would have kept in touch more so that I wasn't missing him so much now. Arnie - thank you for always being yourself!!

My heart broke when I heard the news of Arnie's passing. Over the years he has brought so much joy to so many. I always looked forward to seeing his smiling face and getting a big hug from him at Billy's, Denny;s and at the State Fair. Our hearts are hurting for he will not be here in body but he will always be here with us in spirit. He will be GREATLY missed.

So many share your sence of loss with Arnie's passing. He did so much in his brief time with us. He served his country and his fellow man. He had a genuine respect and appreciation of people. Every thing was always "just peachy" with this kind soul. I will always remember the many times we shared together. I am truly blessed to have shared those moments with him. We have lost a gentle soul and a great friend in Arnie. I'm still stunned at his passing but I will always remember his friendly smile and wonderful sense of humor. Thank you Arnie for proudly serving our country, and for being a good friend to all! My deepest condolences to all of Arnie's family for your loss.

God bless to you and your family. I only knew Arnie through my brother (Chris Barnett) and my son (John Shaw) who worked at Billy's also. What little I knew of Arnie he seemed to be a very nice man. I know he will be greatly missed.

To Arnie's Family,
Arnie was dear dear person to many. He was a talented man who always allowed the light to shine on others sometimes maning the spotlight himself.
Arnie was missed the day Billy Joe's was closed. He was instrumental in its continued operation especially during the hard times.
I will never forget Arnies gentle loving soul. He must have been raised by loving folks as that is the what he showed everyone who ever knew him.
Thank you for sharing him with us.
Arnie was our friend.
