Audrey M. Brown

Audrey Mae Gumm Brown, 91, was born August 28, 1918 in Spickard, Missouri, to Bill and Maudie Gumm. She passed away peacefully at the Taylor House August 27, 2010.

Audrey married Edgar Brown June 11, 1938 and moved to Iowa in 1940. She has lived in Stone Crest Apartments for the last 21 years and has been a member of Hickman Road Church of Christ since 1962.

Audrey is survived by her children, Billie (Carolyne) of Floris, Shirley of Des Moines, Jackie (Madeline) of Runnells and Jerry (Angelina) of Smithville, Texas; two brothers; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edgar Brown; son, Charles Brown; daughter, Rosemary Kennedy and two siblings.

The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, August 30, 2010 at Canfield Cemetery in Ivy, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hickman Road Church of Christ in loving memory of Audrey.

Audrey was a loving caring person with a quick laugh and a warm heart. She will be greatly missed.
