Kenneth Lawrence Hart

Kenneth L. Hart (Kenny), 68, formerly of Fort Madison, Iowa, passed away on August 27, 2010 at his home in West Des Moines, Iowa.

The son of Kenneth and Lucille Hart, Kenny was born March 31, 1942, in Fort Madison, Iowa. After graduating from Fort Madison High School, Kenny enlisted in the US Army and served in Korea. He worked at the Ordinance Plant in West Burlington and retired after many years of employment with the Dial Corporation in Fort Madison. Kenny was a very generous, loving man, always willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed listening to music, playing on his computer, fishing and playing cards with family and friends. He had an enormous love for his family and was an incredible father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by the lives he touched.

Kenny is survived by his two daughters and one son-in-law, Jayne Hart of Heidelberg, Germany, Stacy and Rick Cox of West Des Moines; three grandchildren, Chelsea Cox, Joseph Cox and Ashlynn Cox; one sister, Patricia A. (Robert) Goodall of Milan; one brother, Ed D. (Susan) of Burlington; one aunt, Frances Hart of Fort Madison; four nephews and three nieces. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Shirley Hart, and his former wife, Patricia M. Hart.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2010 at the King-Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison. Visitation with the family will be held from noon until 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service. Pastor Marshall Jackman will officiate. Military burial will be at Soldiers’ Circle following the service.
