Patrick (Pat) Shawn Shimer, 45 years young, entered the golden gates on August 27, 2010. Pat is survived by his family; very loving wife; Tammy, 2 beautiful daughters, Amanda and Elizabeth, 2 handsome sons; Kevin and Shawn, 1 very precious granddaughter, Grandpa’s girl, Makaela; his loving mother, Evelyn Sanders; his father, Virgin Shimer; 4 brothers, Charlie (Karen) Shimer, Carl (Dawn) Shimer, Robert (Tracey) Shimer, Bill (Nikkie) Shimer; lots of nieces and nephews, in laws, aunts, uncles and cousins. And of course tons of caring friends.
His favorite hobbies were going to go cart racing or just riding with his children. He loved to have fun with them and make sure they were having fun. He loved the races, especially if he could be in the pits to help work on the cars at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.

i miss u i wish u could be here to see how big makaela has gotten we all miss u n love u more than anything i wish i could rewind all this and everything with u would of went good and we could be out riding go karts right now :{ i miss those fun times we had i miss n love u daddy

i am sorry to hear about Pat. I have always missed going to the races in harlan hanging out with him in the pits.

so sorry to hear about pat. he is my cousin, i'm albert's daughter.he will be missed by all who knew him.keep your spirits up and he will always be in your heart,mind and thoughts.
