Virginia Cosner-Shiffer

Virginia Cosner-Shiffer, 81, passed away August 24, 2010 at Urbandale Health Care Center. She was born July 28, 1929 in Des Moines, Iowa to Agnes and August Desch. She later moved to California and resided there until 1995.

Virginia is survived by her children, Maureen Cummings, Marilyn Peters, Ralph Cosner Jr., and Robin (Gary) Hill; three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Curtis and Ken Shiffer; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Florence Mathern; brother, Floyd Desch; first husband, Ralph Cosner Sr., and second husband, Darrell Shiffer.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Capitol Hill Lutheran Church, 511 Des Moines St., Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place in California at a later date.
