Charles “Joe” “Jiggy” Johnson, 64, died at his home August 24, 2010.
Joe was born August 13, 1946 in Ft. Eustis, Virginia to Charles and Elner Mae (Dixon) Johnson. He was a truck driver all of his life and drove for J. Pettiecord Inc. for 10 years prior to his retirement. Joe was a member of the Believers Bike Club and affiliated with the El Forasteros.
Joe is survived by his children, Joe (Julie), Kim (Bobby Gwinn) and Danny Johnson, Michelle Hill and Paula Smith; companion, Vicky Carpenter; brothers, Donny Cameron, Ricky Johnson and Micky Dixon; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Roberts-Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

"Joe" was a pall bearer for my mother in 1976, (Charlotte Richardson) and for that I thanked him. He was the husband of Shirley Jasper-Johnson then, and they had three children, Joe, Danny and Kim. He was also friendly to me when I moved back to Iowa 2006- living in the same area near Altoona that I did. Thanks Joe.
