Mildred Johnson

Mildred Johnson, 96, passed away at her home August 23, 2010.

Mildred was born May 3, 1914 in Des Moines to J.F. and Edith Dawson. She was the church secretary and organist for Trinity United Methodist Church, of which she was a member, for many years. Mildred loved to watch sports, read and work on her computer.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Dennis) Moon; grandchildren, John Lenhart, Bill (Tiffany) Lenhart, Mary (Keith) McPhee and Loren Moon; and great-grandchildren, Amanda and Sean McPhee. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marlin Dawson; husband, Leonard; and daughter, Carol Lenhart.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
