Wilfred "Bill" Sloan

Wilfred “Bill” Sloan, 77, passed away at his home August 20, 2010.

Bill was born February 13, 1933 in Des Moines. He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber for 30 years. He also worked for Paratransit for 8 years and Human Services in West Des Moines for 8 years.

Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joann; sons, Michael (Linda) Sloan and Steve (Keely) Sloan; daughters, Debbie Daughenbaugh and Kathy Sloan; daughter-in-law Sue Sloan; 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Bill.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. at Monday, August 23, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
