Ruthanne Heintz, 69, was taken by cancer August 12, 2010 at Kavanagh Hospice House. She was born August 13, 1940 in Liscomb, IA to Gift and Nina (Weatherly) Bland.
Ruthanne enjoyed spending time with her family and will be dearly missed by her husband of 51 years, Joe; children, Kym Sells and her husband Todd, Jennifer Trow and her husband Kirk, Michelle Heintz and Melissa Drake; grandchildren, Kali, Sydney, Johnathan, Tristyn and Madison; sisters, Bertha Kaufman, Virginia Gray and Judi Bell; and her brother, Ron Bland. She was preceded in death by her son, Loren Joseph, Jr.; her parents; brothers, Jerry and Gift “Junior” Bland; and her parents-in-law, Fred and Marie Heintz.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, August 16, 2010 at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy in West Des Moines. The family will begin greeting friends at 10 A.M. the morning of the service.

I know this is really late, but I want to say it anyway.
I had no idea that Ruthanne had passed away, if I would have known you would have heard from me alot sooner. Ruthanne and I became friends in 1951 when I moved to Liscomb. She was a good friend and a great person. I am truly sorry for your loss.

My deapest sympathy to the family. I remember Ruthanne as a person enjoying life and always pleasant to be around. We worked together at Iowa Bankers Insurance Company for several years. Take hold of the memories you ha ve made together and keep them close.

Ruthanne was such a loving, supportive mom. I spent many weekends over at the Heintz home, and always saw tremendous love in their home. I have so many memories of Ruthanne laughing and enjoying her family. From my entire family and me, I send our love and condolences to you.
