Service Details
Ryan James Weintz, 37, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2010. Services will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines. The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. followed by funeral services at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 14 in the chapel at Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport at 10 a.m.
Ryan was born on October 28, 1972 in Davenport, Iowa to Rhonda (Simoens) and Elray Weintz. He attended Central High School and graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Information Technology. He worked for EDS for 4 years and most recently for Nationwide as a Licensed Adjuster. Ryan was a member of Meredith Drive Reformed Church. He was also an active volunteer providing technical and computer assistance to many organizations including radio station 107.1.
He is survived by his mother Rhonda Weintz and his step-father Mark Hobert; his half sisters, Meredith and Mallory Hobert; aunts, Sally Moser, Jenny Schrimper, Ruth Lundering, Angie Walker; and cousins, Brooke, Rita and Karen. He was preceded in death by his biological father Elray Weintz.

Dear Rhonda,
I just learned of Ryans passing two days ago from one of your former neighbors in the Davenport, IA Kenwood Avenue neighborhood.
Even though I knew Ryan for a brief time as a 4 to 5 year old boy, I see the condolences from those who knew Ryan as an adult, that he was a fine young man who you can be very proud of.
May the peace of God the Farther, the love of Christ the Son, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit be with you always. Amen

I just found out about Ryans promotion to glory. Precious in the Lords sight is the death of His godly ones. I spent many hours talking radio with Ryan. Always a joy to work with. A very generous man.
He will be missed.

Rhonda, Marcus and family,
We were very sorry to hear about Ryan's passing. Rhonda, I remember our conversations about family and your concerns about Ryan as he was growing up. Everyone has trials and tribulations to overcome in their lives but Ryan had more than his share and yet grew up to a very accomplished and admirable person. Fond memories of Ryan---a friend never to be forgotten.
I knew Ryan when he was attending Western University in Moline, Il.
Our Homewood Evangelical Church was located very close, and he became very interested in the church, and was so helpful with our office tech equipment. I assured him that he went to college to teach the professors, which brought a smile to his face. He was such a Christ centered young man, and handled his difficulties with his spiritual strength.
My condolences go out to you in dealing with the loss of such a great young man.

I met Ryan when I worked as a contract nurse for Nationwide. What a special guy--I enjoyed seeing him pop his head in and ask us nurses thought provoking questions. I am so sad to hear of your loss.

Best wishes to the all families involved in the passing of Ryan. Although I never had the opportunity to meet him personally I know that if he was anything like his dad who I was best friends with in North Dakota all of our lives he was a very good kid. Best wishes to Rhonda during this time you have lost two great guys. May he rest in peace until we meet again in heaven.

To the family of Ryan,
I got to know Ryan through our church. I was in bible study with Ryan and also gave him rides to church. I enjoyed talking to him when we were going to and from church. He was very bright particularly in the computer area. Given my computer ineptness he was a great source for my computer issues. I am deeply sorry for your loss. It was very sudden and unexpected and may you take comfort in family and friends to get through this time. Ryan is now in his eternal home which is a goal for all of us. I know that his medical issues were a difficult thing for him to go through. Now he is free of those as well. Take care. Brent
