Service Details
Ned W. Valder, age 66, of Carroll, IA, formerly of Des Moines, died suddenly on July 29.
He is survived by his sister, Dianne Dhom-Wilson; nephew John Gottsch; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Ned grew up in Des Moines and graduated from Tech High. He served four years in the Air Force in Germany where he also learned to ski and later became active in a ski patrol rescue team. Ned then joined AT&T, retiring after 34 years of service. Ned was a Red Cross volunteer and a dedicated member of the United Presbyterian Church in Carroll where he most recently served as an Elder.
A Memorial Service will be held at the United Presbyterian Church (927 N. Carroll St., Carroll, IA) at 11 a.m. on Sunday, August 29.
Ned will be remembered and missed by many whose lives he touched. Memorial contributions may be made to the Red Cross in memory of Ned.

I remember Ned from Jr. High in Des Moines. He went on to Tech High as did many members of our class from Amos Hiatt, the rest of us finished at East High.
Ned will meet up with classmates and fellow service men and women in eternity. God grant peace and comfort to his family left here on earth.

Dianne, I was so very sorry to hear of your loss. I remember seeing Ned once when a troop of us silly girls were at your house and Ned passed through quickly, looking slightly mortified as we turned to look at him! It sounds like he grew into a fine man.
