Service Details
Jamie Handsaker, 32, passed away August 3, 2010 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th St. S.W. in Altoona followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Altoona Cemetery.
Jamie was born July 6, 1978 in Des Moines. She was an office technician for MidAmerican Energy. Jamie’s greatest passion in life was spending time with her daughter Madeline.
Jamie is survived by her husband, Shawn Handsaker; daughter, Madeline Handsaker; mother and step-father, Penny and Ron Edwards; father, David Stout; grandmother, Marquieta Eddis; step-sister, Amy Ayers; and two step-brothers, Brad and Brent Edwards. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William Eddis and Mary Ann and Fred Stout.

We just heard about Jamie tonight - our thoughts and prayers will be with you. My husband. Lawrence and Fred Stout were cousins, we knew David from a very young age and our son, Bill and Jamie spent many a day at "Mary Ann's house" - thru the years we have lost touch. I am so glad that Jamie had the chance to grow up and have a family - she had great courage.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jamie was a great girl. We enjoyed going to Minnesota over Memorial or Labor Day & spending time with her, Madeline & Shawn. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.
