Glenn Sutherland

Glenn Sutherland, 91, passed away July 31, 2010 at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, AZ.

Glenn was born March 29, 1919 in Nevada, IA and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Glenn was a prominant new car dealer for 35 years with two dealerships in the metro Des Moines area; Olson Sutherland Rambler Jeep Company and Glenn's Chrysler Plymouth Company.

Glenn is survived by his son, Scott (Linda) Sutherland; daughter, LeAnn (Chuck) Ashbeck; grandchildren, Marcia (Bill) Kelly, Michael (Toni) Miller, Monica (Patrick) Farrell, Kim (Jerry) Terrell and Melinda Meyer; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lena and Bruce; his wife of 61 years, Dorothy; brothers, Luther, Dorrell, Wayne and Richard; and his sisters, Greta Johnson and Marie Mills.

A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1627 Grand Avenue in West Des Moines followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions should be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
