Cheryle Van Wyk

Cheryle Ann Van Wyk, 55, died Monday, August 2, 2010 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines from liver failure. She was born March 1, 1955 in Dexter, Iowa to Gerald and Ruth Barnett.

Cheryle worked for the Delavan Company. She enjoyed being outside, swimming and especially spending time with her granddaughters.

Cheryle is survived by her husband of 26 years, Stan Van Wyk; daugher, Katie White; granddaughters, Makenzie and Arianna White; mother, Ruth Reynolds; brother, Larry Barnett; and her dog, Gizzy. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Jerry Taylor who raised her until his death in 1968 as well as her step-father, Gerald Reynolds until his death in 1997; her brother, Michael Barnett; and grandmother, Kathryn Sharp.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 6, 2010 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with cremation to follow the service. Friends may visit with family from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 5 at the funeral home. A private burial of cremated remains will occur at the Altoona Cemetery.
